But weight loss is also possible while on testosterone. One study of 411 obese men with low testosterone found that T therapy led to significant weight loss and a decrease in waist circumference:
- Men with a BMI of 30–34.9 lost on average 17.4kg (≈38lbs) and 10.6cm (≈4”) from their waist.
- Men with a BMI of 35–39.9 lost on average 25.3kg (≈56lbs) and 13.9cm (≈5.4”) from their waist.
- Men with a BMI⩾40 lost on average 30.5kg (≈67lbs) and 14.3cm (≈5.6”) from their waist.[4]
