Blephagel is a sterile cleansing gel for eyelashes and eyelids. It cleanses your eyes and removes dirt and irritants, which can lead to inflammation and dryness. It’s recommended, by opticians, to use if you have blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids) and dry eyes.
Blepharitis can be caused by bacterial infections, which irritate the eyes, leading to inflammation, and dry eyes is caused by impaired tear production. Both conditions can make everyday tasks more difficult. There’s no dedicated treatment plan for blepharitis, but eye drops and cleansing products can help moisturise your eyes and keep them clean.
Blephagel is a sterile gel that cleanses your eyelids and removes dirt. This makes sure your eyes and eyelids remain clean, preventing infections and irritation. Maintaining good hygiene can help prevent blepharitis flare-ups.
Additionally, when Blephagel is applied and massaged onto the eyelids, it assists in the removal and breakdown of excess oil. The act of massaging can help unblock the meibomian glands (oil glands of the eyes), which, in turn, can help prevent flare-ups.
How often you use it depends on what you're using it for. If you have a blepharitis flare-up you should use Blephagel for a minimum of 2-4 times a day, to keep your eyes clean. Maintaining good eye hygiene can help prevent flare-ups.
If you have chronic blepharitis, though, you'll have to clean your eyes at least once a day, every day. Without cleaning them, the symptoms of blepharitis will likely return.

Blephagel is only applied to the eyelids, not the eyes. When using it:
This can be repeated multiple times a day.
Blephagel doesn't contain any active ingredients that irritate the eyes. Even if you use it multiple times a day, you shouldn't have any reactions or irritation as it doesn't contain harsh chemicals.
If you or your child accidentally swallows large amounts of the gel, contact your doctor or head to the nearest A&E. If possible, take the tube or the packaging with you so that the medical stuff will know what you’ve taken.
