How to use Hylo-Forte eye drop
Before using Hylo-Forte, check that the protective seal on the packaging is intact. Don’t use it if the seal is broken or damaged.
To prime the system, follow these steps:
Remove the over cap.
Turn the bottle upside down.
Place two fingers on the base and your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle.
Press firmly on the base and then release it.
Repeat this process several times until the first drop comes out.
For everyday use:
Remove the over cap.
Turn the bottle upside down with the tip facing downward.
Hold the hand that's gripping the bottle with your other hand to provide support.
Gently tilt your head slightly backward.
Pull down your lower eyelid.
Press the base of the bottle to release one drop into the conjunctival sac (the "pocket" between the eyeball and the inner surface of your eyelid).
Release and repeat these steps for your other eye.
After each use, gently close your eye to make sure the liquid spreads evenly across the surface of your eye.

How often can I use Hylo-Forte?
It’s important to always follow your clinician’s instructions when using Hylo-Forte – typically, it's one drop in each eye three times a day, but you can use it more often if needed. If your symptoms persist, worsen, or you find yourself needing it frequently (more than 10 times a day), ask for advice from your clinician. They might recommend a different treatment for you.

Using Hylo-Forte is typically safe, but overuse can cause a rebound effect. This means the blood vessels in your eyes narrow too much, depriving your eyes of oxygen and nutrients. Are there any alternatives to Hylo-Forte for blepharitis?
