- Clotrimazole (Canesten) cream

- Zinc pyrithione soap or shampoo
If your tinea versicolor is more widespread and needs oral treatment, then you may need to take antifungal pills. These pills usually contain antifungal medications, like clotrimazole, itraconazole and voriconazole, which are commonly used to manage the condition.
