Doublebase Gel is an emollient containing two active ingredients: liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate. Both these ingredients help hydrate your skin and retain skin moisture. This can be beneficial when treating dry skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.
Dermatitis is the broad term for conditions that cause inflammation. This includes atopic eczema, seborrheic dermatitis and photodermatosis. Although the exact cause of these conditions is unknown, they all share a dysfunctional skin barrier. Doublebase Gel can help restore the skin barrier and lessen inflammation.
There are two active ingredients in Doublebase Gel: liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate.
Doublebase Gel also contains glycerol, which can help reduce water evaporation from the skin’s surface. Together they provide instant relief from dry skin, making it soft and supple. Regular use also helps restore the skin barrier function, which relieves inflammation, redness and itching.
There are many Doublebase products available, which have different benefits and purposes. Doublebase Gel, Once, and Dayleve gel are three moisturisers containing the same active ingredients. The difference is how frequently you apply the product:
There are also soap substitutes available like Doublebase Shower and Bath. Most shower products contain harsh chemicals and fragrances and while they might not be irritating for some people, they can cause flare-ups and worsen symptoms in people with dermatitis.

When we present you with stats, data, opinion or a consensus, we’ll tell you where this came from. Apply a generous amount of gel to the affected area of the skin. Apply it in a downward motion and gently smooth it into your skin – rubbing it vigorously can irritate your skin. Allow any excess moisturiser to soak in. Apply it as often as required to help improve your symptoms. It’s also best to apply straight after a bath or shower, as this will help trap moisture. If you’re using another treatment, try to avoid mixing the two products. Instead, apply the first product and let that soak in, then apply the second product.
This depends on the severity of your condition and how regularly you use it. If you have mild dermatitis you’re more likely to improve dry, itchy skin quicker than someone who has severe dermatitis. Additionally, using it regularly will also help speed up the healing process.
If you forget to use Doublebase Gel, don’t worry, just apply it when you remember. If you accidentally use too much, you can let it soak in or wash it off and reapply.

Meet CraigReally thorough and super good service ☺️ Oestrogel worked after just 1 week and has made a huge difference for me, especially in the hot summer when I can now enjoy the heat in a whole different way without the trite hot flashes ☺️
People listened carefully to why I wanted to quit. And then you really feel heard. The whole process was very careful, but due to family circumstances, this was not the time. mvg. Marchien
