What is Zindaclin?

Zindaclin is an antibiotic gel for acne that you apply to the affected areas of your skin once a day. It works by stopping the bacteria that live on your skin from reproducing which, in turn, reduces and prevents the formation of spots.

Acne is most common in early adulthood and adolescence, but you can get it any time. It can be caused by a range of things that lead to your skin producing more of a substance called sebum. When a lot of sebum is produced, it combines with dead skin to block your pores. This provides an ideal environment for the bacteria that live on your skin to thrive and multiply, causing inflammation (redness and pus).

How does Zindaclin work?

There’s only one strength of Zindaclin. If you haven’t noticed any difference after using Zindaclin for eight weeks, let our clinician know. You might need to try another treatment.

What doses of Zindaclin are there?

There’s only one strength of Zindaclin, but your clinician might recommend that you use the cream more frequently if your symptoms require it. If you haven’t noticed any difference after using Zindaclin for eight weeks, let our clinician know, you might need to try another treatment.

How to use Zindaclin

You should always use Zindaclin exactly as prescribed by our clinician. The standard dose is to apply it to the affected areas of your skin once a day.

To use Zindaclin:

• wash your face with a mild cleaner and pat it dry
• apply a thin layer of the gel to the area of your skin where you normally get spots
• make sure that you replace the cap once you’ve finished using it
• don’t apply it to areas of your skin where you don’t usually get spots, or dab it onto individual spots, as this won’t help it to work at its best
• make sure that you don’t apply a thick layer of the gel onto your skin to try to make it work better – it won’t

How long does it take Zindaclin to work?

Many people start noticing a difference after using it for a couple of weeks. It usually takes at least six to eight weeks for it to start reaching its full effect, though, so don’t worry if you haven’t noticed much benefit from it after a few weeks.

Zindaclin is generally only prescribed for a limited course, such as three to six months, to prevent antibiotic resistance. If you haven’t noticed enough improvement after this time, your clinician will need to review your treatment plan.

What should I do if I make a mistake when using Zindaclin?

If you accidentally get Zindaclin in your eyes, mouth or nose – rinse it out thoroughly with water. You shouldn’t have too much cause for concern if you use more Zindaclin than you should, simply wash your skin with water, and contact a clinician if you’re worried.

If you forget to use Zindaclin, you can use it when you remember – just don’t double the dose to make up for a forgotten one.
