Home | Blog | General health | How do Treated stay ahead of other pharmacies?
At Treated, we lead the way by giving you direct, easy access to our specialist clinicians. And, once your prescription gets the green light from our clinicians, we also outperform other online pharmacy services when it comes to delivery times. All so that you can skip the wait and get the treatment you need, when you need it.
Plus, our range of medications is wide and ever-expanding, and we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to expand into new treatment avenues. Everything we do is focused on making healthcare easier and more accessible for you.

Our clinicians have a lot of experience in their fields, which means Treated can offer safe, high-quality, and evidence-based care that many other online pharmacies can’t match.
Dr Daniel Atkinson is our Clinical Lead and and has been guiding Treated’s clinical team since 2017.
With over two decades of experience as a GP and a special focus on sexual and reproductive health, Daniel ensures that everything we do is safe, effective, and patient-centred. He also spends a lot of time consulting with our patients directly, so he can identify what works well and where we can improve.
Sanjeda is the superintendent pharmacist who runs our pharmacy in Bolton and brings years of experience from both community and locum pharmacy work.
She oversees the smooth day-to-day running of the pharmacy and works with our other pharmacists and prescribers to make sure processes and procedures are followed. She’s also an independent prescriber, so she communicates with patients and prescribes medications when needed. Her expertise ensures every prescription is handled safely and our patients receive the right care and guidance.
Craig is a pharmacist independent prescriber with extensive postgraduate training in areas including injectable medicines, emergency medicine, sexual health, contraception, and ADHD.
He consults with patients directly and also researches new and existing treatments to make sure they work effectively for the conditions we treat. Craig’s combination of prescribing expertise and clinical knowledge ensures that patients receive the most appropriate and effective treatments.
At Treated, you get unlimited access to our clinicians through our messaging system. Unlike other online pharmacies, where you might have to wait for an email reply or struggle to get in touch with the clinicians, we make it simple and convenient, so you can skip the waiting game and have peace of mind.
You can message a clinician directly to ask questions, discuss any concerns, or get advice on any health conditions you may have. And, at the same time, our clinicians can also use the system to adjust dosages or tailor your treatments to your needs.
Our goal is to make healthcare accessible on your terms, whenever and however you need it, and everything we do is built around that.
We’re always looking to expand our range of medications so our patients have access to the newest and most effective treatments. Some months we might add just a couple of new medications, while other months it could be 20. This depends on things like what’s newly available on the market and how quickly we can safely introduce it into our range.
We always keep a close eye on new treatments and generics, so we can make the latest or most cost-effective options available as soon as possible. This means our formulary is constantly evolving, giving our patients more choice and a better chance of finding the medication that works best for them (and their budget).
We’re always finding new ways to innovate and develop our platform so we can provide care for a wider range of conditions. This way, we can offer treatments beyond the usual lifestyle medications, like for skin conditions and chronic disease management, areas that many other online pharmacies don’t cover.
We go beyond standard guidelines by conducting our own research and analyses using patient outcomes data. This helps us understand which treatments are most effective, what works best for different patients, and where improvements can be made.
The insights we gain feed directly into our clinical frameworks, improve the information we provide, and ultimately allow us to serve patients in the most effective way possible.
Many online pharmacies advertise fast shipping, but at Treated, we go a step further. We review your prescription, approve it, or contact you for any necessary changes on the same day. And almost 99% of orders are successfully delivered within one or two working days once approved by our clinicians.
By comparison, data from 2025 shows that only 1 in 8 UK online-only pharmacies offered same-day delivery. So Treated really stands out for the speed and reliability of the services we offer.
Treated offers a combination of speed and clinical oversight, which means you don’t just get your medication fast, you get the right medication, reviewed and approved by our specialist clinicians, when you need it most.
| Feature | Treated | Other online pharmacies |
|---|---|---|
| Specialist clinicians | Treated has an experienced and diverse clinical team, made up of doctors and pharmacist independent prescribers. We’re transparent about our clinicians’ expertise, so you know the people behind your care are highly qualified and trusted. | Clinician oversight available, but often limited to general pharmacist review or online questionnaire assessment; prescriber names/ qualifications not always highlighted. |
| Clinician messaging system | Unlimited direct messaging with clinicians to ask questions, discuss concerns, or adjust treatments. | Support usually via email, phone or live chat; direct clinician messaging usually not offered as standard. |
| Range of medications | Constantly expanding our formulary, adding new treatments regularly and keeping an eye on the generic market, including for chronic conditions and emerging therapies. | Standard range covering common conditions; formulary expands more slowly and tends to only target core categories (weight loss, sexual health, hair loss). |
| Research & clinical insight | Carries out own patient outcomes research to help guide clinical frameworks and make treatments even more effective. | Most competitors rely on standard clinical guidelines; original outcomes research isn’t common. |
| Delivery speed | Prescription reviewed, patient contacted for further questions, and prescription approved same day, usually dispatched same day it’s approved (~99% same‑day dispatch). | Fast next‑day or same‑day delivery offered by some, but same‑day dispatch without regional limits is rare. ~12% of UK online pharmacies offer same‑day delivery overall. |
| Patient support model | Direct clinician support built into care; personal tailoring of treatment and dosage via easy messaging. | Patient support exists but often limited to consultation review and standard follow‑up; less proactive clinician engagement. |
Online pharmacies lag on same-day delivery, putting patient safety at risk
