Dermol 500 is an antimicrobial emollient that can hydrate your skin and fight bacterial and fungal infections. It contains four active ingredients which work together to clear impetigo.
Impetigo is a bacterial infection that affects the upper layers of the skin. It’s characterised by red, inflamed patches with yellow crusts (called erythematous plaques). The affected areas can be itchy and painful to the touch, and the plaques are very contagious and can often spread to unaffected areas. Although impetigo is self-treating, treatment increases recovery time and lowers your risk of spreading the infection.
Dermol contains four active ingredients that work to combat different symptoms caused by impetigo: benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine dihydrochloride (which both have antimicrobial properties), as well as liquid paraffin and Isopropyl myristate (two emollients).
