What is the ED Trial Pack?
The ED Trial Pack contains a selection of three oral tablet treatments for erectile dysfunction. Each medicine in the pack works by helping to increase the flow of blood to the penis, so that the user can sustain firmer and longer-lasting erections.
Our Trial Pack is ideal for those men who haven’t used a treatment for erectile dysfunction before, and aren’t sure which particular medicine to try first. It can also be useful for men who have taken one type of treatment before, but want to try another to see which works best for them.
After you’ve tested the treatments out and found the one you like, you can stick to that one type of treatment. Or if you prefer, you can try a different type of Trial Pack if you want to try other options.
What’s in the ED Trial Pack?
We have three different combinations, depending on what treatments you want to try and your budget.
The Branded ED Trial Pack 1 contains:
four Viagra 50mg tablets
four Cialis 10mg tablets
and four Levitra 10mg tablets.
The Branded ED Trial Pack 2 contains:
four Viagra 50mg tablets
four Cialis 10mg tablets
and four Spedra 50mg tablets.
And the Generic ED Trial Pack contains:
four Sildenafil 50mg tablets
four Tadalafil 10mg tablets
and four Vardenafil 5mg tablets.
The generic version is a cheaper option for men who want to try non-branded treatments.

How to take oral ED treatments
Simply swallow one tablet whole with water.
They can be taken with or without food, although heavy meals can slow down their effectiveness.
You should notice the tablet begin to work from 15-60 minutes, depending on the tablet you’re taking.
You’ll need to be sexually stimulated for the tablet to work.
Don’t take more than one tablet within a 24 hour period.
How often can they be taken?
You should never take more than one treatment for erectile dysfunction at a time, or within at least 24 hours of each other.
Viagra, Spedra, Levitra, Sildenafil and Vardenafil remain active in the body for up to five hours after you have taken them.
Cialis 10mg and Tadalafil 10mg are ‘weekend’ pills. The drug will remain active in the body for between 48 and 72 hours; so you shouldn’t need to take another ED drug, or a second dose of Cialis or Tadalafil, within this time.
How quickly will they start to work?
Spedra tends to be the quickest. Whereas the other drugs may take 30 to 60 minutes to help you get an erection, Spedra only takes 15 to 30.
However, every man is different; what works well or quickly for one person may not necessarily do so for another. This is the advantage of trying the trial pack: you can see which specific treatment works best for you.
When we present you with stats, data, opinion or a consensus, we’ll tell you where this came from. And we’ll only present data as clinically reliable if it’s come from a reputable source, such as a state or government-funded health body, a peer-reviewed medical journal, or a recognised analytics or data body. Are there any differences between the drugs?
Answer:
Each drug works in the same way in the body, but there are some slight differences in how long they take to work, and how long they last for.
All of these treatments, with the exception of Cialis and Tadalafil, should remain active in the body for up to four or five hours after you’ve taken them.
Cialis and Tadalafil have a longer half-life in the body, so they should remain active for up to 72 hours. This means that you should be able to get an erection when aroused during this time, but not have an erection for the whole time. If you have an erection which doesn’t go away after four hours, you should go to hospital as soon as you can.
With the exception of Spedra, the above drugs should work within 30 minutes to an hour. Spedra is normally the fastest, getting to work in around 15 to 30 minutes.
Generally, Levitra is regarded as a treatment more suitable for older men or men who have a pre-existing medical condition, such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
How is the branded pack different from the generic one?
Answer:
Sildenafil is the non-branded, generic version of Viagra. Tadalafil is the generic version of Cialis. And Vardenafil is the non-branded version of Levitra. Clinically, there shouldn’t be any difference between generic and branded medicines. They contain the same active ingredient, in the same amounts, so should work in exactly the same way.
The main difference between them is that generic medicines are not always made by the company who makes the branded version. The generic tablets may look different to branded tablets, as will the packaging. And usually the non-active ingredients or ‘excipients’ (things like tablet-coating and colouring) are different as well.
For a generic drug to be made available, it has to go through rigorous clinical testing. A generic drug has to work in a comparable way to the branded version.
Right now, there is no generic version of Spedra. The patent on this drug held by the manufacturer is still active, so this is the only company allowed to produce it currently. For this reason, there is no generic version of Spedra in the Generic Trial Pack.
Why do men get erectile dysfunction?
Answer:
Most men will get ED at least once throughout their sexually active lives, and it can occur due to a number of reasons. It can be occasional or persistent, and affect men of any age.
Erectile dysfunction can sometimes be rooted in lifestyle habits. Men who smoke, drink heavily or take recreational drugs are more likely to develop it, as are men who keep a poor diet, or don’t get enough regular exercise.
Quitting smoking, cutting down the amount of alcohol you drink, not using recreational drugs, maintaining a healthy, balanced diet and being physically active can all help to reduce the presence of erection problems.
For some men, psychological or emotional factors can either cause ED or make it worse. This might be stress, feelings of depression, or the pressure to perform well sexually in a new relationship.
Physical or medical problems can also lead to erectile dysfunction. Being overweight or obese, having diabetes or high blood pressure, and some neurological conditions like Parkinson’s are also possible causes.
What can be done about ED?
Answer:
Someone who only experiences ED occasionally may find that episodes pass on their own, and choose not to seek help for it. But men who have persistent symptoms should see a clinician.
Erection problems can sometimes be a sign of an underlying illness, so it’s a good idea to have an overall health check if the problem doesn’t go away. If psychological issues are the cause, then talking to someone can help to address these and, in turn, ease symptoms.
Treatment can help men who have persistent symptoms, and men who have made lifestyle changes which haven’t been successful in helping to tackle ED. Oral treatments, such as Viagra, can often be effective at helping men to overcome erectile dysfunction.
How do oral tablet treatments for ED work?
Answer:
Sildenafil, Vardenafil, Avanafil and Tadalafil are all variations of a type of drug called a PDE5 inhibitor. PDE5 is an enzyme which can cause blood vessels to tighten and become restrictive, letting less blood through them.
It’s when blood vessels at the base of the penis become tight that erectile problems develop, as blood needs to be able to reach and fill the small muscles in the corpus cavernosum in the penis for an erection to occur.
By blocking the action of PDE5, these drugs enable blood to flow more freely into the penis, making it easier to achieve and keep an erection.
Are the treatments in the trial pack available over the counter?
Answer:
Viagra 50mg (marketed as Viagra Connect) is what’s classified as a pharmacy medicine, which can be bought without a prescription from a clinician. A pharmacist will still need to ask you questions before selling it to you though, to make sure it’s safe.
All the other medications offered in our Trial Packs are prescription-only.
