What is MigraMax?
MigraMax is a dual-action migraine treatment. Containing two different types of medicine (a painkiller and an anti-emetic), it relieves both pain and nausea.
You should take MigraMax when you start to notice migraine symptoms in order to relieve them; it isn’t a regular treatment to prevent or reduce migraine attacks. If you get frequent migraine attacks, speak to our clinician for advice.
How does MigraMax work?
MigraMax contains two different active ingredients: metoclopramide and lysine acetylsalicylate.
Metoclopramide belongs to a class of medicines called anti-emetics, which work on muscles in the upper part of your digestive system to empty your stomach, as well as stopping feelings of nausea in your brain.
Lysine acetylsalicylate is a painkiller which is broken down into aspirin, which then blocks cyclo-oxygenase - a naturally occurring substance in your body that makes some of the chemicals responsible for pain sensations.
These two active ingredients work in tandem in order to treat a range of migraine symptoms when they appear.
What doses of MigraMax are there?
MigraMax is only available in one dose, and you should only use one sachet at a time. If you don’t feel like MigraMax is working to alleviate your symptoms at this dosage, speak to our clinician. It might be the case that you need to try another treatment.
