What Acnecide skincare products are there?

There are four main Acnecide products: Acnecide Face Gel, Acnecide Face Wash, Acnecide Daily Cleanser and Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30. Acnecide Face Gel and Acnecide Face Wash both contain 5% benzoyl peroxide, a powerful antiseptic acne medication. Although they work in pretty much the same way, the Face Wash is rinsed afterwards, while the Face Gel is left to absorb. They’re best for mild acne.

Acnecide Daily Cleanser (often branded as Purifide) is a foaming face wash you use everyday to reduce acne and keep your skin clear. The Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 keeps your skin healthy and hydrated without clogging your pores, while protecting your skin from sun damage. Daily cleansing and moisturising keeps your skin clear of excess oil and dirt, while preserving your skin’s natural barrier.

How does Acnecide skincare work?

Acnecide Face Gel and Acnecide Face Wash treat mild acne with a strong antiseptic, benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide works to get rid of the bacteria on your skin which can cause acne. It’s also a comedolytic, meaning it helps to clear your pores. It brings down inflammation too, removing spots and leaving your skin clearer. ^[1][2]
Acnecide Daily Cleanser gets rid of dirt and impurities. Because it’s soap-free and gentle, it preserves your skin’s natural barrier and doesn’t irritate your face too much, making it perfect for everyday use. ^[3]

Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 keeps your skin hydrated and protected from the sun, without being too heavy. Acne treatments can dry the skin, so Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 helps prevent this. They work together to keep your skin healthy while protecting you from spots. ^[4]

Which types of Acnecide skincare should I use?

Acnecide Face Gel and Acnecide Face Wash work in pretty much the same way, so which you use is really up to you. Both the Gel and Wash are powerful acne treatments. They’re used slightly differently, so which one you use might depend on whether you want to wash the treatment off afterwards, or leave it on.

Acnecide Daily Cleanser might be better for you if you have sensitive skin that’s prone to spots. This is because it’s gentle enough for daily use without drying your skin. It might also be good if you also have a condition like eczema, or dry or combination skin. It’s also helpful to use in combination with stronger topical acne treatments, which can irritate your face if applied too often. Acnecide Daily Cleanser removes spots whilst maintaining your skin’s pH balance.

Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 can often be a necessary addition to your skincare routine if you’re using a strong acne treatment like Acnecide Face Gel or Wash. This is because they can strip the skin of its natural oils in order to treat the acne, so a moisturiser helps you to avoid dryness. Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 is lightweight enough to hydrate the skin without clogging pores, stopping acne from getting worse. It also provides natural skin protection, to keep your skin healthy.

If you have acne, you might want to use either Acnecide Face Gel or Acnecide Face Wash in combination with Acnecide Daily Cleanser and Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30. Together, these treatments can bring down your acne and keep your skin clear, clean and soft.

How to use Acnecide skincare

How to use Acnecide Face Gel:

• Start by using the treatment once a day before bed. If you haven’t experienced any irritation after a few days, start using it twice a day.
• Wash your face with a light cleanser like Acnecide Daily Cleanser, then pat your skin dry.
• Apply the gel to the affected areas of your face. Use a thin layer. Avoid the eyes, mouth, nostrils and neck.
• Tighten the cap on Acnecide Face Gel.
• Use a moisturiser after applying Acnecide Face Gel.
• Avoid direct sunlight after using the Gel. If you can’t, use suncream. Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 can combine these two needs. ^[1]

How to use Acnecide Face Wash:

• Use Acnecide Face Wash once or twice a day.
• Wet your face before using.
• Wash your hands and put a small amount of Acnecide Face Wash onto your hands.
• Use Acnecide Face Wash to wash your face, avoiding eyes, mouth and nose. This should take around 1-2 minutes.
• Then rinse your face and pat it dry.
• Clean your hands and put the cap back on the Face Wash. ^[2]

How to use Acnecide Daily Cleanser:

• Use it once or twice a day. If you’re using Acnecide Face Gel or Wash, use the Cleanser first.
• Wash your hands and wet your face.
• Apply a small amount of Cleanser to your hands and rub it into your face. Avoid sensitive areas.
• Rinse your face and wash your hands.
• Pat your face dry.
• Put the cap back on the Cleanser.
• Use the Gel or Wash next, or use the Moisturiser if you’re skipping that step.

How to use Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30:

• Moisturise once or twice a day. If you’re only using it once a day, use it in the morning to provide sun protection.
• Use after the Gel, Wash or Cleanser.
• Apply to skin that’s been patted dry.
• Squeeze a small amount of Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 into clean hands.
• Rub your moisturiser all over your face, avoiding eyes, nostrils and mouth.
• Wash your hands again and close the bottle.

How long does it take Acnecide skincare to work?

If you’re using Acnecide Face Gel or Acnecide Face Wash, they will start bringing down acne and inflammation on your skin very quickly. But it might take a while to see their full effects. If you’re not sure if it’s working, wait for 12 weeks before going back to talk to your clinician. ^{[1] [2]}

You should continue to use the Cleanser and Moisturiser everyday. They shouldn’t harm your skin, and their effects at maintaining your skin’s health and protection get better over time.

What should I do if I make a mistake when using Acnecide skincare?

Don’t swallow any of these treatments. If you accidentally get any in your mouth, nose or eyes, rinse them out thoroughly with clean water. After using the Acnecide Face Gel or Face Wash, there’s a chance coloured fabrics you come into contact with may be bleached. To avoid this, you could put white towels over your pillowcases if you use it before you sleep.

Don’t use Acnecide Face Gel or Acnecide Face Wash on broken or damaged skin, as it might irritate it more. Using more Face Gel or Wash won’t make it more effective, so don’t apply it more than twice a day.
