Dalacin T Solution is a treatment for acne. It’s a topical antibiotic, so you apply it straight to your skin and it stops the growth of harmful bacteria which cause acne. It also treats hidradenitis suppurativa, a skin condition that creates painful lumps on the skin.
You’ll usually apply Dalacin T Solution twice a day to treat acne. You can use it on any area where you have an outbreak of acne to clear your skin. It both reduces your acne and stops new pimples from developing.
How does Dalacin T Solution work?
The active ingredient in Dalacin T Solution is clindamycin, which is a type of antibiotic called a lincosamide. You apply it to your face and it kills off the bacteria on your skin that are causing the acne. It also stops more bacteria from being produced by binding to certain proteins on the skin.
Clindamycin is found in the comedones (a type of acne lesion) after four weeks of treatment, which shows that it’s well-absorbed into the skin. Dalacin T Solution can also treat hidradenitis suppurativa. You apply it straight to the affected skin and it reduces the lumps and lesions caused by the condition.
What doses of Dalacin T Solution are there?
There’s only one dose of Dalacin T Solution, which contains 10mg of clindamycin per milliliter of solution. Use it in a thin layer, as often as directed by your clinician (generally twice a day). If this dose isn’t working for you, go back to your clinician. They might recommend that you use Dalacin T Solution more often or switch to a stronger acne medication.
