Erectile Dysfunction: Here are some other options.
Injectable treatment that works from 5 minutes. Good option if tablets haven't worked for you.
Comes as an on-demand pill that lasts for 36 hours, or as a daily dose that's active all the time.
Lower dose pill. Better option if you're older or have a pre-existing condition like diabetes.
Like Viagra, but cheaper and works in the same way. Non-branded version of the original ED drug.
Tablet that works from just 15 minutes. Works in the same way as Viagra and lasts for 5 hours.
Like Cialis, but without the branding (so it's cheaper). 'Weekend' and daily options available.
The one you've heard of. Works in 30-60 minutes and lasts for up to 5 hours.
Cream that you apply to the tip of the penis and works from 5 minutes.
What sets apart Vardenafil from other ED drugs? Potency. A little Vardenafil goes a long way, so the dosages of the drug are lower, but it’s still an effective option. And because you don’t need as much, you’re less likely to get side effects with it. This makes it a good option for older men or men with medical conditions like high blood pressure.
Just take one Vardenafil tablet 25–60 minutes before sex. It remains active in your body for up to five hours giving you ample time to enjoy sex with your partner.
Like Levitra, Vardenafil also comes as an oro-dispersible tablet (ODT) which dissolves in the mouth and doesn’t need to be swallowed with water.
Vardenafil works by opening up blood vessels so more blood can get into the penis. It’s a PDE5 inhibitor, which means that it restricts the action of an enzyme in the body (PDE5). This enzyme can cause blood vessels to become tight, and when someone has ED, this can stop blood flow to the penis (making erections difficult). Vardenafil helps to dilate these blood vessels, improving circulation to the penis. The result? Easier, longer-lasting and firmer erections.
Nothing much, apart from the name.
Vardenafil is the non-branded (cheaper) version of Levitra. It’s the same pill on the inside, with the same active ingredient, but different on the outside. As it’s chemically the same, it does the same job in the body.
The main difference is that it isn’t made exclusively by one company like Levitra is. The sole manufacturer of Levitra owns the rights to the brand name, as well as the distinctive product design (the circular, orange pills).
Generics like Vardenafil are made by different manufacturers, so they’re usually cheaper than the brand-name medications and also differ in color and shape from one another.

The oro-dispersible version of Vardenafil doesn’t need to be taken with water.
If you feel your dose is too strong or too weak, let your prescriber know.
Every man is different. It depends on whether you’ve used treatment before, and whether it worked well. Our clinician will usually prescribe the lowest effective dosage. If that works well for you, you’ll continue with it.
If you think this doesn’t do the trick – for example, you get an erection that doesn’t last very long or isn’t quite hard enough – let us know. A higher dosage is sometimes the answer.
If you get mild side effects, but find that it works well otherwise, our prescriber might change the dosage depending on how you respond to it.
If you take Vardenafil and you find that it doesn’t have any effect, takes too long to work or doesn’t last for very long, let us know. Switching to a higher dose or adjusting your dose could fix the problem. So if you take Vardenafil and it doesn’t work as well as it should, let your prescriber know.
To get the best results out of Vardenafil, you might also have to:
limit your alcohol intake
quit smoking if you smoke
eat a light meal when taking it
get some form of physical exercise daily
maintain a healthy lifestyle.
But remember, Vardenafil is a pill for erections and doesn’t help in increasing your sex drive. It works only if you’re sexually aroused.
