Premique is a low dose HRT treatment. The active ingredients are conjugated oestrogens and medroxyprogesterone acetate. These hormones work to increase the level of oestrogen and progesterone in your body. The result is reduced menopause symptoms like hot flushes and night sweats, and a lower risk of developing osteoporosis, which can happen in some women after the menopause.
Conjugated oestrogens and medroxyprogesterone acetate are combined in each Premique tablet to provide continuous HRT. These tablets come in packs of 28 that you should take in order. Once you complete a pack, begin a new pack the next day without taking any breaks.
The oestrogen in each tablet increases the amount of the hormone in your body. Oestrogen is lost from your body during the menopause, and this can trigger unpleasant symptoms like night sweats, hot flushes and trouble sleeping. The oestrogen in Premique replaces the natural oestrogen that’s lost, and so eases these symptoms.
The progesterone in the treatment helps to keep the oestrogen under control. Without the progesterone, oestrogen can cause the womb to keep growing, which can increase your chances of developing endometrial cancer.
Women who have menopausal symptoms and haven’t had a period in a year should respond to Premique. It’s ideal for women who haven’t had a hysterectomy.
These tablets will help these women feel more comfortable and avoid the consequences of osteoporosis as they get older.

Taking Premique is quick and easy. Swallow one pill each day with or without food and water. Don’t skip any pills and don’t pause in between packs.
If you aren’t currently taking any HRT medications, you can begin taking Premique at any time. If you’re making the switch from another continuous combined HRT option, you can also start at any time. However, if you’re switching from a different kind of HRT, you will need to start Premique after completing your last cycle.
If you miss a dose of Premique, take it as soon as you remember. If you missed more than one dose, only take the most recently forgotten one before continuing as usual. Never take a double dose.
There are two different doses available for Premique. If you’re taking HRT for the first time, our clinician will start you on the low dose option with 0.3mg of conjugated estrogens and 1.5mg of medroxyprogesterone acetate.
If you are still experiencing menopause symptoms that are interfering with your daily life, our clinician may bump you up to the higher dose with 0.625mg of conjugated estrogens and 5mg of medroxyprogesterone acetate.
