- dry mouth; or:
- mild burning or tingling sensation in the mouth.
You may also notice staining on your tongue and teeth. This, too, is normally temporary and will go away once the treatment stops. For stained teeth caused by chlorhexidine mouthwash, you can usually remove this by brushing your teeth twice daily with a whitening toothpaste and by avoiding drinks like tea or coffee.
If you notice peeling inside your mouth, dilute the mouthwash with water to lower the concentration.
