Invicorp is an erectile dysfunction medication that you inject into the base of your penis to give you an erection. It works differently to ED tablets like Viagra, so it can be helpful for men who’ve tried these and not been successful. Instead of being released into the body through the gut like a tablet, it works locally around the penis. So for men who can’t take ED tablets for medical reasons, Invicorp may be a good alternative.
Invicorp only comes in one strength: 25mcg/2mcg.
There are two active ingredients in Invicorp that work together to help men develop erections that are suitable for sex: aviptadil and phentolamine mesilate.
How does Invicorp work?
The two active ingredients in Invicorp produce an erection in men who suffer from erectile dysfunction. Aviptadil works to decrease blood flow away from the penis, while phentolamine mesilate actively increases blood flow into the penis. The relationship between these two drugs is what produces longer-lasting, harder erections for men who use Invicorp.
Using Invicorp right before sexual activity should produce an erection in as little as five minutes. It may take a little longer, but you should be ready for sexual activity after about ten minutes.
Who is Invicorp for?
Invicorp is a treatment option that is usually reserved for men with erectile dysfunction who cannot take an oral medication like Viagra or Cialis. It is also great for men whose erectile dysfunction doesn’t respond to alprostadil treatments like Caverject. One study found that 61% of men who don’t respond to alprostadil successfully achieve erections while using Invicorp. [1]

How to use Invicorp
Before you use Invicorp for the first time, your prescriber will give you detailed instructions on how to administer it.
These instructions are a guide to give you an idea of how to use Invicorp, but they aren’t exhaustive. Make sure you read the instructions you get with Invicorp, and if there’s anything you aren’t sure about, let your prescriber know.
Clean & prep yourself: Wash and dry your hands before handling Invicorp. Collect the supplies you need including the glass Invicorp ampoule, syringe, 23 gauge needle, and 30 gauge needle.
Get ready to inject yourself: Attach the long 23 gauge needle to your syringe and remove the protective cap. Break off the top of the Invicorp ampoule. Draw out your prescribed dose from the ampoule, making sure to push out any remaining air. Replace the protective cap on the needle. Twist off the 23 gauge needle, and replace it with the 30 gauge needle.
Administer Invicorp: Clean the injection site on your penis with soap and water. Hold the syringe vertically and tap it to make any air bubbles rise to the top. Depress the plunger to push out a couple drops of fluid to make sure you don’t accidentally inject yourself with air. Position the needle perpendicular to your penis at the injection site, making sure to avoid major blood vessels and other structures. Insert the needle halfway and push the plunger of the syringe to carefully administer Invicorp. Remove the needle when you’re done.
Dispose of the materials: Replace the protective cap on the end of the needle. Dispose of the Invicorp ampoule, syringe, and needles in a sharps container.
Invicorp shouldn’t be used more than once a day, or more than three times per week.
How to inject Invicorp
A clinician will demonstrate how to inject the treatment before you use Invicorp for the first time. You can also find detailed diagrams in the leaflet for more information.
Invicorp needs to be administered into the side of your penis, avoiding any veins or blood vessels. You shouldn’t pierce any blood vessels or your urethra with the needle.
Do I need checkups when using Invicorp?
Your clinician will evaluate you regularly if you are on Invicorp. It’s recommended that you see your clinician every three months for as long as you’re taking it. This will help you to identify the dose that is most appropriate for you, and also to make sure that the injection is being used in the right way.

FAQ: Invicorp
Have something specific you want to know? Search our info below, or ask our experts a question if you can’t find what you’re looking for.
When might I be recommended Invicorp?
Answer:
If you’ve tried oral tablets like Viagra or Cialis and these haven’t worked, or if you can’t take them due to medical reasons, then a clinician will look further afield at different options. Invicorp isn’t usually the first treatment people try, unless there’s a specific reason they can’t use oral tablets. But it can be helpful when these haven’t worked. Some men who find that Caverject doesn’t work well may also find Invicorp is better for them.
How long does it take Invicorp to work?
Answer:
Invicorp produces an erection within 10 minutes for most men. Some men may develop one in as little as five minutes. But it won’t work on its own - you’ll need to be sexually stimulated for the drug to be effective. If you find that Invicorp doesn’t produce an erection quickly enough for you and takes longer than 10 minutes, let our clinician know, and they may be able to suggest different option.
Does Invicorp work the same way as pills, like Viagra?
Answer:
They achieve the same end result, but Viagra and other pills work a little differently than Invicorp. Both drugs can increase blood flow to your penis, but they do so in different ways. Invicorp is a combination of two drugs that decrease blood flow away from your penis while increasing blood flow to your penis at the same time. On the other hand, Viagra is a PDE5 medication that relaxes blood vessels. This makes it possible for blood flow to increase in your penis and create an erection.
How long does Invicorp last for in the body?
Answer:
The half life for phentolamine mesilate is around 19 minutes, [1] but the treatment should remain active in the body for up to an hour. If you use Invicorp and find it doesn’t last for long enough, let our prescriber know so they can discuss other treatments with you. It’s rare that this happens, but if you still have an erection after four hours, you should go to hospital.
How is Invicorp different from Caverject?
Answer:
Caverject and Invicorp contain different kinds of drugs. Alprostadil is the main ingredient in Caverject, and Invicorp contains both aviptadil and phentolamine mesilate. Both of them are injected into the penis and can provide results in a very short time. The way they work is slightly different: aviptadil is a peptide, which means it works in the intestine; and phentolamine is an adrenergic antagonist which works in the nervous system. Alprostadil is a prostaglandin, which has muscle contracting qualities. In various ways, these help to increase blood flow to the penis when used in ED, enabling better erections.
Do I need to keep Invicorp in the fridge?
Answer:
You should keep Invicorp refrigerated. It needs to maintain a temperature between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. You can allow it to reach room temperature before you use it, but once you take Invicorp out of the refrigerator it will only last for 24 hours. You can find more information on how to store Invicorp in the leaflet that comes with the medication.
It is the only one that works for me. It s not too aggressive like other injectable but potent enough to work for the time needed
