What is Invita D3?

Invita D3 is a vitamin D supplement or treatment that is available as a capsule, oral solution or drop (although we only supply it as a soft capsule at the moment). It can be taken to help maintain good levels of vitamin D in your body, to help keep you healthy through the dark winter months.

Vitamin D is one of the body’s essential vitamins and minerals. It helps keep muscles, teeth and bones healthy.

When the sun isn’t shining it’s sometimes more difficult to get enough vitamin D in our systems. And the darker your skin, the harder this becomes. Vitamin D deficiency has actually been called an ignored epidemic by some health officials.^[1]

How does Invita D3 work?

Invita D3 is essentially vitamin D. Its active ingredient, colecalciferol, is processed in the body as vitamin D, which helps you to fight off fatigue and keeps up your calcium levels. If you’re not getting enough sunlight, whether because it’s winter or you’re just not the outdoors type, then the lower doses of vitamin D will act as a preventative measure against your levels dropping too low. If you already have severely low levels of vitamin D, then it can be used as a treatment, although this will require higher doses.

What doses of Invita D3 are there?

Invita comes in many dosages, some for use as a supplement and some for use as a treatment. Invita D3 800 IU and 400 IU dosages are supplements and should be taken once a day, every day. The stronger doses are prescription medications. Which one you’ll be prescribed will depend on how severe your lack of vitamin D is and what it’s being prescribed to treat.

Invita D3 20,000 IU dosages are a common treatment, but strengths go as high as 50,000 IU.

Currently, we only supply the 400IU dose of Invita D3, used to prevent vitamin D deficiency. You’ll typically be prescribed one capsule a day.

How to take Invita D3

Invita D3 should be taken as instructed. This usually includes taking it with a meal in order to get the most out of the treatment or supplement.

Invita D3 capsules are simply swallowed with water in the dosage stated. For drops, you should shake the bottle before use. It can also be mixed with warm water if preferred. Each dose can be emptied into the mouth directly or emptied onto a spoon and taken orally.

How long does it take Invita D3 to work?

The length of time that it will take for you to feel the benefits from Invita D3 will depend on your circumstances. If you are suffering from vitamin D deficiency, then it could take weeks for you to notice any major improvements in your health. ^[1] Whereas if you are taking a lower dose just to supplement your health, then the effect will be more subtle, as you will just be maintaining good health.

What should I do if I make a mistake when taking Invita D3?

Invita D3 shouldn’t cause you any health issues unless you take too much.

If you have taken more than your prescribed amount of vitamin D in one go then you should seek medical advice as it can be toxic. Usually, taking too much vitamin D over a prolonged period of time can cause health issues,  one of the most dangerous being a condition called hypercalcaemia, which is when you have too much calcium in the blood. This can lead to serious health outcomes so it should be avoided.

If you miss a dose during your treatment, just take it at the next convenient time. As long as you don’t double up the dose to make up for it, you should have no cause for concern.
